"I've always been put off by self help type things thinking them faddy and aged hippie, but this course makes me smile every time I think of it", that's Nicki, one of our first Be the Woman... Alumnae writing in her monthly column in Knit Today's June 2008 issue.

She's totally got the whole vibe of the Be the Woman You were Born to Be... Online Course and Community: "the aim is for you to recognise yourself as a woman through all sorts of things that I love doing", she says, "knitting, crochet, sewing, cooking - anything creative."

The featured photo shows lots of us who came together for our first Making Day at Laughing Hens, run by Nicki, where we knitted, chatted and enjoyed the most wonderful food (home-made pizza, fennel risotto and yummy cheesecake). We have a Jam Making Day coming up soon, when we're going to pick the strawberries in the morning and make the jam together in the afternoon.

Nicki has totally embraced the concepts: "It's based on the principle of community". Nicki has resurged her knitting friends for their knit nights every week and she's also active in our Inner Circle, the Online Community which supports and sustains Be the Woman....
