What is Kundalini Yoga |
|
Wouldn't you like to have a physical body which supports and carries you through your life rather than having to worry about its aches and pains? Wouldn't you like to have the mental and emotional strength to have discipline and commitment to achieve your goals? Kundalini Yoga has given me all of these. It works to bring strength, stamina and suppleness on the physical, mental and emotional, and spiritual planes. As I became physically more supple with improved stamina, so I became emotionally stronger; as I became more able to focus for longer in meditations, I became more physically strong. And so on. The best part though was the feeling of clarity and well-being. This gift was given to us by Yogi Bhajan almost 40 years ago when he brought the sacred technology of Kundalini Yoga out of India to the West. For me, it is very sacred and it is also very scientific. It is absolutely not "yet another exercise class". I often ask when new people join a class what they expect. "Stretching" is more often than not the answer. Only Kundalini Yoga stretches and works far more than only the physical. A few years ago I was in New Mexico and decided to enjoy a ride in a hot air balloon. Have you ever done that? It was amazing. I loved how I could suddenly see a full 360 degrees around me. What touched me most was that when up high it was obvious how all the roads, fields and landmarks interconnected. Even though I was unfamiliar with the town itself, if someone had asked me how to get from the church to the shopping mall, I would easily have been able to tell them. Life is the same way, when we have altitude, our insurmountable problems become challenges through which we can clearly see our path. Kundalini Yoga gives us this altitude so we can take life in our stride, with awareness and gratitude. |

Remember a time, maybe just a moment in your life when you felt so good being you? Go on, right now, think about it. Wouldn't you like to feel like that all the time?
